Appealed a sitewide permaban (my mistake, broke TOS) apologized profusely (body text contains all of it), can I hope for an unban? Appeal hasn't gotten me a response yet, sent the following via ticket (lemmy.world)

Dear Reddit Moderators/Admins,

I’m writing to sincerely apologize for my irrational behavior that led to my ban. I fully acknowledge that my use of abusive and hateful language was unacceptable, against Reddit’s rules, and harmful to the community. I deeply regret my actions and the negative impact they may have had on others.

I would like to express my regrets over my burst of emotions, sending abusive dms to multiple people who were abusing our country and some who posted comments threatening to grape and harm my family but removed them before I could report. Due to having lost two loved ones in the war in Jammu a few days ago, I was in a very toxic mental space and abused several people from the other country. I would like to express my sincerest apologies and regrets over such stupid and unacceptable behaviour.

Since then, I have seeked help for my mental health and stability (contacted a working professional, starting therapy today) and am willing to work towards making reddit safer and eliminate negativity spread by me by blocking every political/war-affected region’s subreddit from my reddit feed, restricting my interactions on reddit to only the teenager subs and fandoms as well as sports and cats, that’s it.

This incident taught me a lesson about violent mental outbursts and I feel extremely sorry for the rage I spewed, no matter the context saying those things is wrong. I am sincerely requesting an unban and am willing to co-operate with the mods by requesting a shadow-ban of atleast 1 month on my account, but requesting it’s restoration as well.

I have been a part of reddit for over 3 years now and I now understand the gravity of the hateful words I said. I’m hopeful that therapy will lead me towards being a better person, both online and offline.

I can assure you with utmost respect and sincerity that I shall never repeat and incident such as this ever again and will only work towards spreading positivity and light-hearted, SFW humour.

Expressing my sincerest apologies and requesting a final unban as well as a shadow-ban for a few weeks. Please consider this request, I shall forever regret my actions. Due to the war-torn situation, my only friends are on reddit at this moment. Reddit used to be my escape from the scary reality and break from my studies and issues after getting diagnosed with sleep apnea and anxiety syndrome. Please, I am requesting this unban with my sincerest regrets.🙏 Expecting a response and again expressing my deepest regrets. I am willing to do anything asked of me to get my account restored.

Not sure if this was sarcasm or if I'm genuinely unwelcome here, so I'll just be diplomatic and reply with a "lmao" :3

Edit: The only thing I actually said to the guy was "you'll get what you deserve for making those threats" in a fit of rage, I'm not actually that kind of person and everything I wrote in the text is true, I am seeking therapy.

edit 2: I did not make a lemmy account just for this lol, I'm trying to move over to lemmy because I don't wanna try to evade the reddit ban, while still interacting with people. I made this post just incase any reddit admins happened to be lurking on here

For real though, Reddit admins aren't even bothering with reading your appeal on reddit, most of that is probably automated with little to no human oversight, the odds of a reddit admin being here and caring is abysmally low.

Yeah man, I hope a miracle happens but idk what to do anymore. I had so many genuine friends on reddit, some of whom I was helping to deal with mental health and some who were helping me.

But I cussed out someone who sent grape threats and banned, while reddit hasn't even banned that person.

Nope, I haven't used reddit for more than 6 years now. And I was never banned, and I used reddit from when it was very new.
I have been banned on lemmy once, but only for 2 days.
I was just giving my opinion, because you got a very harsh respond IMO.

They raided our city's subreddit during war hours, where constant attacks were taking place and they started threatening to grape our families and m**der the men, I agree that I shouldn't have gotten angry like that but at that time something just broke inside me Since then I have seeked help and learned to ignore these people, so yes a lesson for sure

Fuck reddit, fedi is the future. Worst that can happen here is a server ban and fedi got a lot of servers!

Yeah but idk if Fedi can get as big, reddit is a lot more accessible to users who are less nuanced, they can get communities with thousands of people within a few months. I hope fedi gets bigger tho but doesn't become like reddit, with the powertripping admins

It will take time for niche communities to take root. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I still use reddit for reference but do my shit poatin' purely on fedi to seed it

Also, we got reddit mods here but they checked regularly for their bullshit

We ain't trying to copy reddit, the idea is to have peasant centric alternative where corpos and other parasite shills can't stifle the discourse of the plebs.

Also, the way fedi is built inherently prevents what happened to you.

Nobody should be able to unilaterally silence a person online that's what decentralization fixes. There will be growing pain but so far it has been delivering IMHO

Yess the concept seems interesting and very coolsies, like I just got started on multiple servers about gaming, books and blahaj so it seems fun, hopefully we can get more users on here because seems like a lot of people are suddenly getting banned on reddit since the past few months, seems like their automation tools and spam filters didn't work well, even my ban said that it was given with the assistance of automation.
