The Supreme Court's conservative majority on Monday delivered a significant win for the Trump administration's immigration policy, clearing the way for officials to resume deportation of migrants to third countries without additional due process requirements imposed by a district court judge.

The nation's hight court did not explain the decision, but it said the stay of Judge Brian Murphy's mandate would terminate should the administration ultimately lose an appeal on the merits.

Litigation is ongoing, but is expected to take years to complete.

If there is no due process for immigrants, there is no due process for anyone.

If there is no due process there is no law.

Where there is no law there is only force.

The supreme court has declared themselves, and every other person, be given no due process to deport.

What will come should not surprise anyone.

What will come can only be met with equivalent response.

The US of A is a failed state.

These conservative judges are scum. I hope I live to see them charged and convicted of crimes against humanity or something

I'd rather live to see their obituaries.

Can’t we have both?

Looks like human trafficking is back on the menu, boys!

Can we start deporting judges without due process until the law is a little more clear on things?

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Just claim they're illegal immigrants and you can.

Yep. If you don't give those judges any due process then they can't actually prove that they are citizens, let alone SCOTUS justices. Just pack them off to a torture prison somewhere and wash your hands of them. It's the American way now.

And everyone with a group of friends can do it, because the ICEstapo doesn't identify itself when kidnapping people.

People have reported being sold into slavery after being deported to Libya. Mauritania criminalized chattel slavery in 2007, but the law is not well enforced.

Democratic members of Congress, write down this decision to stay the order, with the footnote: "Bad Behavior from Supreme Court". You might need it later if you get a chance at governing again.
