So, yes, it can be used to steal your identity. Yes, it can be used to manipulate abuse and surveil you. And yes, it's a violation of your privacy and feels gross.

But.

The government really wants it there just in case they want to prosecute you about something someday.

So, i mean, weigh the costs against the benefits, guys.
