I don't think we're getting a happy ending in this one...
I never would've thought that reaction "Wow just like magic" can be used in such a context...
I guess all the happy shots from the trailer were just in Takopi's mind.

While this attitude Shizuka had may throw some people off, I think this could be some form of her dissociating after witnessing a traumatic event

I think we also may be seeing some events through Takopi's eyes as an unreliable narrator, like those sparkle effects around Shizuka's face. I guess we'll find out in the next episode whether this was what I think it was or the show is starting to lose its footing by trying to be too edgy and doing things just for the shock value
Shizuka is deeply hurt and unhappy person. Considering that any reaction is not abnormal in that case. After years of pain anything goes, just to end the suffering. In that case it looks like she thought about killing either the source of the pain or herself.
Honestly watching this show makes me feel so frustrated. I feel like there's so much you could do to end (relatively peacefully) this suffering but nobody's taking an action. I understand this happens in many cases but still... We're on the bad route and I feel like suicide wasn't the worst of them...
I was wondering how they're gonna redeem Marina over time but I guess that's not the case anymore. I didn't expect Takopi to solve the problem with a blunt force.
Takopi being an alien from Happy Planet and thus not understanding the concept of bullying is so frustrating to watch at times. Didn't expect this episode to end the way it did.
After the first episode I was expecting something like March Comes in Like a Lion & A Silent Voice, halfway through this episode I thought we're going the Re:Zero route, and now I have no idea where we're headed. I suppose the opening animation was a misdirection, I'm curious if it will be different next week.
