And six months into the new body’s reign, a dozen City Hall observers tell WW that Portland’s agenda and discourse is largely being driven by a cohesive bloc of leftists on the council—and at its heart are the socialists.

It's interesting to see that this actually works like that. On a national level, the Republicans want to change much and disrupt the system (replacing democracy with fascism). And the Democrats that just want to keep the status quo have little to stop them from that.
But it's good to see that also leftists that have a clear vision and want to change the system can dominate over centrist Democrats that just do nothing.

Sameer Kanal has been a brilliant rep in District 2, which is unfortunately, not my district. But really glad to see what he's doing.
