What they don't know is that you could probably make a similar device for just about any striker-fired handgun, but criminals focus their design efforts on Glock because it's popular and widely available. Take Glocks away, and they'll find another model to slap switches onto.
Switches are still illegal...
A bigger concern is FRTs and "super safeties" on rifle platforms especially if loopholed into "pistol" category
Those are literally more effective than "real" automatic fire because they're more controllable and you can actually hit what you're aiming at.
And are 100% legal federally. And I'm pretty sure in every state.

Not sure about "super safety" I think that might be the "Cali compliment" since they already had bans for binary triggers which applies to other triggers. And that is leaving the trigger and adjusting the safety to replicate full auto without changing the trigger.
The justification for banning Glocks under this bill is that they readily accept switches. Which is dumb, of course.
Several states broadly ban the sale/possession of "fire rate accelerating devices"...the usual suspects, CA, NY, NJ, MA...it's broad and vague, but it's enough that retailers of these items won't sell to people in those states.

As far as I'm aware, literally the only reason new Gen 3s are made is Cali's list.
And all the Gen 3 clones... I'd be surprised if any made it onto Cali's list, so nothing is changing there.

I miss when automatic weapons were made by a shady guy you heard about thru the grapevine. A sort of black market gunsmith. You didn't buy an automatic. You brought your own and paid cash for some "custom trigger work"
Why are the gun control folks always focused on dumb shit? Many firearms are capable of being modified for automatic fire easily and at home. These clowns continuously fail to educate themselves and just stumble from scary media word to scary media word. Banning glocks because some criminals are installing (already illegal!) Glock switches isn't going to stop moron criminals from having glocks with switches installed.

Republicans hate Newsom, and I watched as Newsom recently refused to condemn transing the kids. One of the biggest, easiest softball questions in the Republican world. I can all but personally guarantee you he's not going to run as a Republican. 😂 He'd crash out....so friggin hard.
I believe he's doing a lot of face time with Republicans, Conservatives in a bid to court the moderates & the middle. I also believe he's going to run for something, probably President. But he's going to portray himself and run as a "moderate", "common sense" Democrat. Just you wait & see.

Fair enough, but if you do -- I don't even recommend anyone's first being a handgun. 12-ga shotgun is fantastic, versatile, and very effective.
I mean, I've shot guns plenty in my life.
I just have never had any desire to own one.
