Curtis Guy Yarvin (born 1973), also known by the pen name Mencius Moldbug, is an American far-right political blogger and software developer.[1][2][3] He is known, along with accelerationist philosopher Nick Land, for founding the anti-egalitarian and anti-democracy philosophical movement known as the Dark Enlightenment or neo-reactionary movement (NRx), which originated in the late 2000s.[4][5][6][7][2]

By the early 2020s, Yarvin and his ideas were noted as having growing ideological influence in the American Right, including among prominent figures such as Vice President JD Vance, and venture capitalist and Republican megadonor Peter Thiel.[2][8][9]

Squinting like the breeze just wafted the mephitis he let loose back into his face.

Even ignoring his spicy language, his entire point is completely wrong. The US has a ton of billionaires with assets and influence beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

Is he using the word removedrdly to slowly ramp up to the n-word? That only works on people who don't know the words only kinda sound alike but are otherwise unrelated...

Edit: looks like the automatic censoring is an example of one that doesn't know the difference

[–] jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

is the censoring from lemmy.ca? or lemmy in general as a frontend?

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Lemme try that. Is "niggardly" showing up right for you?

[–] jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 week ago

yeah

i remember hearing that lemmy.ml censors certain words the same way

Yes he is, except not slowly. Which is why choosing to use miserly or cheap or tight-fisted or mean, and keep those syllables out of our mouths and ears, is preferable. Choosing to use it, when there are so many alternatives, carries a certain aspect of, "You're not wrong, you're just an asshole."

Wish more people knew who this dude is. He has a huge influence on the right, and he's a fucking monster.

Wow Curtis, have some fucking respect... What kind of asshole (that isn't a troll) posts this online?

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

This is who he has always been. He's another far-right chud.

[–] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

You should research who he is real quick. He's one of the three people behind JD Vance just waiting for the festering orange shitgibbon to croak so they can enact real Hitler shit.
