Can we PLEASE make ffmpeg use GPL for everything?

Actually, can we do that for just all open source software. I'm getting kinda tired of large multinationals using open source for free to make billions over billions and then give back a dollar or so for each of those...

Maybe there are exceptions here and there but most companies give back shit

As someone from the UK, I'm glad they did that. So I can see the image without going through passport control.

Glad to see ffmpeg is still going strong, I used it years ago to do some project 1999 EverQuest streaming on twitch running on a Manjaro dist install running EQ in wine.

Wouldn't be surprised if YouTube and Netflix don't use FFmpeg. I am pretty sure they use custom built hardware encoders. Pretty sure Netflix has a lot of blog posts about building their own encoding methods

They either do use it or a heavily modified fork to fit their usecase.

But I am pretty certain I read about their usage on it.
