I feel like I'm missing something here as I've tried searching for this answer. But does boost have infinite scrolling? And can you select instances anywhere?

I'm not aware of any way to browse using Boost that is not infinite scroll? It just loads the next page when you get to the bottom and just keeps on going.

So it looks like the refresh request is timing out. I've tried loading different communities, going off and on Wi-Fi. Not sure about any other troubleshooting steps. Is this a known bug?

I just made a post in this community with a bug saying the same thing. I'm new to Boost and sh.itjust.works/instances, so not sure how to test further to fault-find either way.

Infinite scroll occasionally has issues for me on lemmy.world. Seems to always clear up after an hour or two so I have always assumed it is maintenance/issues on the instance side.

Restart the app, logout+login again, and if it still persists after a few hours it is likely a configuration issue with your instance. Maybe make an account on another instance to rule that out.

Sometimes, shit just doesn't work I guess.

Never had any issues, but, I'm running my own instance and I have 8ms ping to it so request never fail for me. My phone will probably run out of memory before the infinite scroll fails. Which yeah, it's probably instance related especially the big ones.

It does kinda lack a way to retry though.

I'm only seeing a spot to choose between communities.

Open the sidebar and tap your username, you can add accounts from other instances

But I don't think you can browse the local list of other instances while logged out. That's probably what they're asking for.
