There are no bad mullets. All mullets are blessed

[–] turdburglar@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

Also baseball players.

Recent: Joey Wiemer

Old gold: Randy Johnson

I nominate Randy Johnson to the platonic ideal of a mullet.

Also, RIP to that one bird that one time.

I kinda want a mullet with long hair on top. Like, long hair with shaved sides. An undercut without shaving the back of my head. It might look terrible, but the feeling of asymmetry I'd feel if I got a regular sidecut would be at least as bad.

You encouraged another commenter to get a mullet, too. I'm starting to think you like mullets.

Naw that's a fire hair cut go get it. I rocked that for a good twoish years

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How long was your hair when you had this kind of haircut? I still want to be able to use hair ties at night or at the gym, but I don't know if that's too long.

[–] PotatoesFall@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

pretty long, like 0.5-0.6m ? I mean you can just use hair ties as with normal long hair. Although it looks best when you braid it back like a viking, or just wear it open. another good hairdo is to put the hair from the top of your head into a ponytail that hangs down behind your head, and the rest open

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 2 points 1 month ago

Oh, that's plenty long! I was scared that I might need to cut it relatively short to make the look work, but now I might seriously consider it. Thank you!

I kinda wanna get one, but die to the location of my hairlines (yes plural) make it a very debatable decision

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

tbh that's part of the reason I'm so tempted to do it. If my hairline recedes or I just go bald one day, I'll regret that I wasn't braver with my hair when I still had it.

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 2 points 1 month ago

Embrace the mullet and go full send! As a balding man, you'd have my respect

A couple of months ago, I saw two guys that were firmly gen z (maybe 22 years old if I had to guess) that looked like they had just walked out of a scene from Over the Top complete with mullets, bad moustaches, and trucker hats that looked genuinely old.

[–] germanatlas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

I don’t understand why of all the things in history, the two things that are brought back are fascism and mullets

[–] omgboom@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Lol I'm actually considering growing out a mullet I think it would be hilarious

[–] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

Do it. You will look great.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 month ago

Hey FU buddy, David Bowie's mullet was glorious.

To be honest, there's a big part of me that wishes I could have just woken up from a coma that I entered in 1989. How different would my life be right now and how righteous would my mullet be?

Do good mullets even exist?

[–] CH3DD4R_G0BL1N@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

I was worried I had no impulse control, but it turns out I’m just a hockey person, so it’s all good.

I remain tempted but stoic
