Yeh, who's to know the truth? But then again, surely someone in Blizzard would "leak" the info if it was all some big conspiracy cover-up of a bungled patch.
My hardcore Barb found its end due to a nice little ~3000 ms lag spike.
I was sceptical about playing a hardcore character in an online-only Diablo game and I guess I was right. Lesson learned: Hardcore is nothing but a waste of time, if deaths aren't even your fault anymore.
Back in D2 era I had a Necro on hardcore on closed realm battle net. This was sometime in the mid 2000s. He was level 81. I was on Harrogate, in town. Some sorc joined my game, hacked, and tppk'd me.
You could argue it's my fault for doing online HC, but I had friends I'd usually play with and liked meeting new people online.
Still sucked and felt bad to die where I felt safe due to some asshole cheater.

i hope they also fix the laggy servers for some EU players. Kinda weird to see a thread with some people rubberbanding like hell. Fells like server in germany are bugged as hell.
Acting like blizzard devs do anything but make cosmetics for that sweet $$$ is silly
