Rules:

Obvious right or left wing sources will be removed at the mods discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted seperately but not to the post body.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.
Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
As a foreign famous activist she probably has a "good" treatment for a detainee. Imagine what the Gazan child hostages go through in Israeli prisons (spoiler: reported electrical shock torture and sexual crimes)
So they're torturing her. Israel is torturing her.
Israel has no way to win in this situation. Torturing her will result in media backlash. Executing her would only make a martyr, which is even worse. Somehow, Israel didn’t choose to kick her out immediately.
The worst thing Israel could have done to discredit Greta Thunberg and damage her brand would have been to give her a nice meal, a warm bed in a nice hotel, gently push her onboard the next 1st class flight back to Stockholm the next day and release a statement telling her to go play SJW somewhere else. Instead, they're doing everything possible to confirm they're truly bad people, like dumbasses.

And I think I have an explanation for that:
We do not often read how Israeli politicians talk, verbatim*. They got used responding only to their own media landscape, where apparently they can go much farther in their rhetoric (and subsequent actions) without repercussions. There's also some deep-seated misogyny specifically against women of other race/religion or however they define that for themselves. Like, they'd never do that if she was a typical NY Jew, for example.
Of course that isn't the whole picture; we must also look at the unquestioning support they've been getting from most "Western" countries which no doubt contributed to them developing this sort of impunity.
* Netanyahu often speaks English when addressing the world. It's still bad enough, but it allows him to present a different picture to the world than to his constituency.
They realize that kicking her out just means she will be on her way back on the next boat. They are trying to intimidate her into not coming back.
I hope the Swedish government has a harsh answer for one of their citizens getting kidnapped in International Waters.
Israel has no way to win in this situation.
They could have not taken her hostage.
They could publicly execute her and governments around the world would still support them.

More than a buddy... America is the reason they are capable of any of this. It's disgusting what the failed leadership here has allowed, and Trump has opened every single floodgate in his second term, empowering them like never before.
Do they purposely use the worst photos of her?
You can usually tell at a glance if an article will be critical or supportive of a certain person, based on the photo they choose to go alongside the headline.
General rule of thumb, if you want someone to look composed, use a photo with their mouth closed. If you want them to look dumb, choose a photo with their mouth open mid-speech. It’s not a universal thing, but still images of people mid-word don’t tend to be flattering.
