Today's game is some more Silent Hill f. I finished the Good ending today and even shoved through too the UFO Ending. I was skipping all the cutscenes because i had seen them before and it's still New Game+ so nothing will change. I probably got through too the UFO Ending in maybe 3-4 hours? Probably less to be honest. While i was running through the Dark Shrine, i stopped to get some pictures and it was really pretty. I wanted to get more last time but got some caught up in the story i forgot too.

The Boss fight for the good ending was a lot of fun. I was playing on into the Fog difficulty but it reminded me a lot of the Arkham City clayface boss fight. Specifically the bit with the pit where all the little biped clayfaces are swarming around you and you use the sword to take them down one by one. With the sword it's very much the same feeling of swiping down enemies one by one and then going after the big guy.

spoiler Major Story Spoiler The ending i wasn't expecting. I was fully expecting to have to kill the guy, but nope. He just kind of realized he was in the wrong and let the player go (granted after completely wiping the floor with him). Kind of surprised because he really creeped me out so i was fully expecting him to be straight evil. I suppose the ideal outcome though is he realized the error of his ways and grow though.

If this is the "Good" ending it makes me wonder what the "True" ending is then. My theory is that it is some middle ground between what everyone is calling the Good and Bad ending. Idk though, i need to get the bad ending to see.

My hunch about the Good ending also contextualizing the other ending turned out to be true as well. I like that it added supernatural elements. I didn't hate the first ending, but it didn't feel particularly "Silent Hill" to me.

I went ahead and started up another save for the Bad Ending too. I hope with me skipping cutscenes up until i diverge to the Bad Ending it will take far less time, we'll see though.

My hope now that i don't have to worry about a bunch of extra stuff is to get all the documents this time around along with all the other collectibles. I'm trying to put together a spread sheet but it's turning out to be difficult.

I'm debating whether to hold off on doing the playthrough straight away though or step back. On the one hand it's a narrative heavy game so taking a step back isn't ideal, but on the other hand neither is 4 back to back playthroughs.

Day 451, doesn't play an immersive sim. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined

Day 451 and the screenshot isn't entering 0451 in Deus Ex? Now I feel old. Oh well, the remaster is coming, some younger gamers will probably play it.

The Deus Ex franchise has been on my list for a little while actually lol. I unfortunately don’t get the reference though

0451 was a door code in the first level. It's become iconic since then.

The first game is pretty dated. Most people didn't like the graphics. I did, but I'm weird. I still think Unreal Engine 1 is beautiful. Just... jagged. The remaster will not be much better. The remaster is just important because we'll be able to play DX1 on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. I can play the original PC version on my Mac, but I'm hoping for a native Mac port since it's Aspyr and that's what they were doing before, but to be fair, they were doing Mac ports of Xbox 360 games when both Mac and Xbox 360 used IBM PowerPC chips (in other words, half the work was done for them already since they had the same CPU architecture). But that's true again since the Mac has the same ARM64 CPU architecture as the Switch and Switch 2, so in theory anything that can run on the Switch can also run on the Mac (and, point of fact, Switch emulators generally work better on Macs because they only have to emulate the code, not the chipset).
