A via ferrata (Italian for "iron path", plural vie ferrate or in English via ferratas) is a protected climbing route found in the Alps and certain other Alpine locations. The protection includes steel fixtures such as cables and railings to arrest the effect of any fall, which the climber can either hold onto or clip into using climbing protection.

We have C.A.I. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Alpino_Italiano "Italian Alpine Club" which organize trips with climbing, skying, going to glaciers, trips in the woods/mountain etc.. It was amazing as a child because I learnt lot of things and met lot of people, visited lots of places, and we did a lot of ferrate. Once we went to a cave, and the entrance was less than one meter tall, you had to crawl for meters before reaching the big opening definitely not for claustrophobic people.
