Did you use oil or just spray WD-40 everywhere?
Dull Men's Club
An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.
Some other communities to consider before posting:
5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I just sprayed WD-40 everywhere 😂
Is that bad?
WD-40 isn't lubricant. 'W'ater 'D'isplacement. It works in a pinch, but you'll have to do it again pretty soon. It's also a degreaser, so it's washing away whatever oil is still there.
Throw some White lithium grease in that bad Larry
Oh I see. I have some silicon lubricant as well. Guess I'll use that one next time.
I've used cooking spray in a pinch as well
Does cooking oil ever go rancid? Is rancid smell able or attracting rodents? I have avoided it generally. Also because I am using non food grade stuff, wearing disposable gloves is good.
For the best effect, you should disassemble and clean the squeaky parts and use thick oil or grease. WD-40 is a penetrating oil, it's easy to get it into tight spots and it will work well enough, but probably not as long.
So you still have not mastered true procrastination ;)
They'll get around to it eventually.
Maybe some day
Looking at your icon - are you sure it was the chair??
The gas cylinder on mine is failing. I like it at full height though so just cut some spare PVC to snap around it and now no more sinking chair.
Some chairs let you buy replacements. It could be $20 to escape that Sinking feeling.
I wanted to do that with mine but I was unable to get the old cylinder out. That's not the only spot that is failing though, so it'll be a new chair sometime soon.
I'm looking forward to updates.
I'll notify you if something really big happens /s
Satisfaction
Lube keeps the chair mice away.
Hell yeah
