I get that community engagement is good and all, but some of these posts and comments seem of questionable quality. Is this person a bot?

Some people latch onto social media really hard, like up to and including addiction

And if you're desperate enough for interacting with people then posting a lot can get that

They aren't a bot, they seem like someone a bit stupid who just posts literally whatever springs into their head with no inhibitions.

I've considered blocking them, but occasionally their posts on asklemmy prompt some decent discussion. I just wish they would learn to filter their thoughts a bit.

You guys are so mean hahahahahaha

They’re just adderall fueled posts and this is their outlet.

I hope they learn how to manage the ADHD so they can feel more comfortable with themselves. I know for me it helped a lot to interact online with strangers as to not burn the fuck out of the people I interact with daily. Lemmy is small enough for people to take notice of multiple posts.

Keep posting cheese man, gives me something to read and text with y’all about.

Yeah, I got the ADHD kinda impression too, and that's something I live with too, not always knowing how to express myself and say the right things.

It feels like everyone else in the world are a different species, and I'm just trying to figure out how to best communicate with them in their language, you know?

I'm certain I come across as odd or weird, often, haha. But I'm trying not to be an ADHD recluse that hides from society instead of trying to embrace it, you know?

You got this! But I totally know how you feel.

Every interaction that is neutral is taken as me not being interested enough. Every interaction that is met with excitement is taken as me being way too over the top interested.

ADHD is about finding that sweet balance and applying it to life. It just sucks that it’s always a constant chore rather than something we just get used to.

I like to post here way too much because I found out people in my field don’t really like to talk about the science lmfao, more of a “you just have to know it” type of vibe and I love getting deep into the “why”

Is it bad for me to do this? Maybe. It’s not really experience gained for later on since it’s not directly gained from someone in my field. But it sure helps me understand how I can communicate ideas in a meaningful way rather than just blurt out the word cloud in my head.

Social media… ah

You could just block them instead of making a post to bully them.

[–] Omega_Haxors@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Why don't you ask them instead of trying to sew stochastic hatred their way?

I'm not trying to be derogatory, but the person seems to be autistic. Im not a doctor or anything but the constant posting on specific topics and a few things theyve said about themselves in comments reminds me of a few autistic people i know IRL who i also have added on social media. I moderated a few larger subreddits when I used the site and had a few "regulars" with the same posting pattern

They are ND in some form for sure. But IMO that's not an excuse for having zero internet forum etiquette. Especially for someone so terminally online. I'm ND too (AuDHD) and also spend a lot of time on forums, but I've made a point to learn the social contract on these sorts of platforms so as not to annoy other users.

Etiquette is weird and plastic. Fuck it. Go au naturel and stress-free.

It’s big ADHD for me

I've blocked another account that wasn't a bot, but was just really... awkward and spammy.

I don't think I should be recognizing usernames across communities like this. It's probably a bad sign for them if I do.

I'll keep an eye out for the one you mentioned
