I hated them from the beginning. They're boring. It's so much walking and looting and very few shooting. I don't even like tac shooters either though, I also find those boring. I rather lean towards the arena and "hero" shooter side. Actual gun fights with good teamwork which last long is what I like. Unfortunately, that's not as popular anymore.
This is why I don't rank in League. It's ARAMs so long as I can tolerate bad teammates and then Co-op vs AI when I just want to weed & chill
I feel that, I used to be really into playing league and learning the strategies and techniques and now if I play it at all it's just ARAM and it's so much more fun!
I dislike rage games or any kind of game that damages my already fragile psychie.
:( I don't understand why people like them
People like games like those cuz of how rewarding it feels when you overcome it. With that said, its not for most people.
I can't stand competitive multiplayer. But I'm not very good at paying games. It seems to take me more than twice as long as people say it should to finish most games (I do tend to try and do everything I can on my first play through).
That said I tried playing Elden Ring multiplayer, helping people beat bosses, and that was a surprisingly wholesome experience.
I actually like the idea of BR games, but I often find myself getting frustrated because I can't keep up with the skill level of a lot of players these days, it seems. Especially now that I have a job and devote less time of my life to gaming. Add to that that I've lost aiming accuracy in my hand and that I'm probably dealing with RSi in my right hand, and that has more or less led to me just enjoying highly competitive shooters less. For that reason I mostly just casually play Fortnite every now and then, but it doesn't really scratch the shooter itch for me (I hope CS2 will do it for me, but I'll probably be completely demolished). Back in the day I was super into playing Quake 3 Arena and just loved strafe- and rocketjumping while landing railgun shots (ocasionally), but little of that really transferred to modern shooters. I do still enjoy playing arena shooters, though, but they're very niche.
Currently I've gone back to playing single player shooters, mostly focusing on "boomer shooters". Also I've just been playing Doom 1 and 2 via GZDoom lately, which has been fun.
I love the game play and aesthetic of fortnite but playing solo BR can be too intense and i rarely feel like doing it. It's more fun and less intense playing with friends though
Steep learning curve, having to wait to join a match in order to play, and not having time to just enjoy the world are my big turnoffs. I would love to run around a PUBG map with just like AI bandits and some animals
The main issue for me is also the pvp aspect, which in reality just makes for a somewhat unfair game. I would love a battle royalish game that was PVE, or just collaborative in some manner, where everyone got together to fight bots and gain control of the territory. It's definetly tougher to implement, but it would be great.
I dont understand what makes them "somewhat unfair".
But I strongly agree we need more PvE stuff. I love competitive games, but they are so commital. More casual experiences would make it alot easier for me to try new games without too much commitment, and PvE sounds like it would fit in well.
There's a lot of multiplayer games that causes a lot of rage.
A lot of them are either pay-to-win or battle royales
