“My administration will not allow you to eat this plant that tastes like meat,” said the small government conservative. “Also, women should die rather than let their doctors abort dead fetuses inside them.”

Lab grown meat isn't plant that tastes like meat. It's LITERALLY meat

[–] Rampsquatch@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago

Yea, I kinda like the idea of affordable mass produced chicken nuggies that didn't come from a factory farm filled with cruelty. But I guess that's too ungodly or something.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 4 points 10 months ago

If the meat isn't generated through years of animal cruelty it's just not meat. You need to taste the suffering or it's just not the same.

Looks like they drew a little more than inspirarion from the world economic forum's logo.

I feel dumb. What's special or interesting about the logo design?

Edit: That's what I get for just reading the headline and not clicking through, I guess 🤦

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The logo on the podium is identical to the WEF logo

It's worse because the arc isn't even like going through Os or anything, it crosses two letters and misses a third. They didn't even understand the design they stole.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 points 10 months ago

I'd rather not think about it, but thank you.

Bought and sold by the cattle lobby.

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

You know, I'm not so sure that's the case here. I'm pretty sure he just sees people excited for something that he doesn't understand and wants a law against it.

Don't get me wrong, he is absolutely for sale. However, he also likes picking fights against anything he considers woke. Who paid him to take on Disney? He's just a fucking moron.

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 16 points 10 months ago

Remember that these guys are the ones that tout freedom and free market and tell you that "woke" is the main problem in life.

What idiots

Meanwhile, US ground beef would cost something like $30 a pound if the subsidies were removed.

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

He's making it sound like he's trying to save the planet, which sounds pretty woke to me. We should probably outlaw him

[–] HorreC@kbin.social 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Is there a pocket this person isnt in?? What defines lab grown beef different from beef on a level that a ban is even needed outside of the general checks the FDA (or local equivalent ) wouldnt already check for. Also if you are going to go this route I am SURE is will ban GMO stuff from the shelves as well......

[–] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Florida's largest agricultural export is beef. Really crappy beef.

[–] HorreC@kbin.social 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You know I didnt know that I assumed it was some sort of fruit or sugar cane. Now I wonder where they are keeping all these cows?

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Probably on the land where that can't grow citrus anymore due to the blight
