I did this with Cruelty Squad, Hylics, and to a lesserextentt Underrail.

For the most part it was either the difficulty or not knowing what I should be doing.

Destiny2
I finished the story and then quit playing. I'm a mmorpg player, but I didn't enjoy grinding in this game for some reason.

Disco Elysium. Looked fun to play on streams and got good reviews, it is still on my to-play list but wow 2019-2020 was a wild time irl.

Bought it because it seemed intriguing and I read good things about it plus people raved about it on Twitter. Played for a couple of hours but the dice mechanics confused me and I didn't really follow through. I had never played an RPG with that type of mechanics before, and there wasn't enough documentation within the game that made sense to me.

Dishonored. Looked like the perfect game but the gameplay style just didn't click with me.

omg this one. it has all the pieces. it even has a half life 2 feel about it. why the hell can't I keep my interest past the first section? I've tried to start this game 4 times now and just can't I guess.

Alan Awake. I finally got around to playing it recently and something about the camera movement/placement turned me off. Dead Space has the same issue for me.

Sorta related, I bought Clive Barkers Undying twice (at different stores) without realizing it. One of the copies I left in the bag and stuck it in a closet for whatever reason. It was an awesome game though. I've played through it several times now.

Cuphead. I just don't have the patience. Maybe I'll give it a second chance someday

That's me with a lot of those games that seem designed around being a challenge like Dark Souls for example

Transistor. The game is gorgeous, and I love everything about it. But whenever I start playing it I find myself losing interest quickly. Not 100% sure why as on paper it should be one of my favorite games.

Ugh, so many to list...LA Noir comes to mind. I played for a few hours and decided I hated the interrogation mechanics. What were supposed to be micro expressions and the responses felt more random than anything to me. Looked great for its time but I just did not enjoy it.

Oh buddy I feel the same way about LA Noire. Seemed really promising but the thin lines between Doubt and Lie drove me mad and had me reloading the game.

I feel like I'm just not cut out for detective games

Cyberpunk fits this bill for me.

Deus Ex. I think I'm too much of a zoomer or too shit in stealth to play it.

Omori. I just like the colors and characters sketches of the game. I just never played it enough to progress with the story and I don’t have time to play games anymore :(
