The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
BotW was already one of my favorite games of all time and they just made everything better.
Journey. Short enough to complete in a sitting. Original creature designs and beyond gorgeous music. Yes enemies but also yes immortality, which sounds strange but turned out to be balanced enough that it's neither too boring nor too stressful.
No dialogue. No explanation except for whatever hieroglyphs you stumble across out in the middle of the desert, all of which are things a player could easily miss if they're not focused on exploring. Still sobbed three separate times. Everyone I've persuaded to give it a try has agreed with me, including the person that initially made fun of me. That one apologized.
Slay the spire.
Portal 2
funny enough, it depends on various things, like my mood currently it's Mark of the Ninja, absolute banger of 2D stealth game and the first game I ever 100%-ed.
Warcraft 3. It's just absolutely awesome.
May be nostalgia as it's one of the first game I really got into. But just loved all of it.
The armies, the hero system, campaigns, custom maps / campaigns.
Always will be half life 2
Mother 3 has my favorite story ever told in a video game format.
