What happens when photons emitted from the heater hit items in the room? That energy is imparted into the object, heating it up.

Light is just heat energy

Amazon has more money than most countries. They can outlast any company in court, or just ban you from their services in the future.

I'm not giving you right wing propaganda. I am trying to get you to understand that in a democracy, you have to show the voters that you are doing something to benefit them, or tell them what you are going to do that will benefit them. The only ones who have seen their lives improve in the past 20 years are the wealthy, so when one party says they are going to maintain the status quo, citing numbers that don't mean squat to 90% of the electorate, and the other party says they are going to tear it all down and build up something else, it is no surprise that the public will choose option 2. That's what has been happening across the entire world as the neoliberal foundations society has been built on start collapsing.

You are viewing voters as rational actors which they are not.

I am saying it was the thing he was most successful at. Which is again, more accomplishments than you have listed.

I have been pretty much tofu exclusive since it costs about $1.79 a pound here

It's also a baseball term for when a pitcher illegally stops their pitching motion.

BALK RULES! IMPORTANT!

  1. You can't just be up there and just doin' a balk like that.

1a. A balk is when you

1b. Okay well listen. A balk is when you balk the

1c. Let me start over

1c-a. The pitcher is not allowed to do a motion to the, uh, batter, that prohibits the batter from doing, you know, just trying to hit the ball. You can't do that.

1c-b. Once the pitcher is in the stretch, he can't be over here and say to the runner, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna tag you out! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that.

1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to pitch and then don't pitch, you have to still pitch. You cannot not pitch. Does that make any sense?

1c-b(2). You gotta be, throwing motion of the ball, and then, until you just throw it.

1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have the ball up here, like this, but then there's the balk you gotta think about.

1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Balk hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X.

1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse.

1c-b(2)-b(ii). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic...

1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. A balk is when the pitcher makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the baseball and field of

  1. Do not do a balk please.

Or you can get a window unit if you want your bedroom cooler in the summer and a heated blanket for the winter for a fraction of the cost. And once again, neither of those options will spy on you or stop working just because Amazon shit the bed 1000 miles away from where you live. My parents have a high end mattress that tilts but it doesn't need an Internet connection, and cost half the price of this thing. IoT devices are a luxury tax on people too stupid for all their money.

The top 1% of earners in the US made over $1 million last year. I doubt any lemmy users are in that category.

I have a mattress i purchased for $100 of my buddy when he moved out the country. He ordered it online the year before for $400. I can just throw it on the ground and sleep on it no problem when i move. Not sure why a mattress would ever need an Internet connection other than to spy on you

So once again you have just said "they do great things" but provide no examples. All i saw Biden do was send Ukraine loads of weapons, give up after the first hurdle on cancelling student debt (which was just a band-aid solution anyway) and then spend 3 months building a pier in Gaza that was immediately destroyed. If the did great things, why didn't they plaster the airwaves with their accomplishments during the election? And when leftists do run their own candidates they are criticized for not falling in line and costing the election.

What great things? Because more people were living paycheck to paycheck in 2024 than at any point since WW2. Dems spent all of 2024 talking about how great things are while everyone's lives were falling apart. Biden was told by the Supreme Court that he could do whatever he wanted and it wasn't illegal, but he chose to do nothing. Now the same thing is happening in Europe and Canada while the neoliberal parties continue to learn nothing.

Not sure where else to inquire about this, but i got hime from wirk and gave my cats some shrimp temptations. I rarely ever give them treats, but i figured why not. Nini was hesitant about them at first but ate 3-4, then she started to make puke sounds and puked a bit. Only the treats and some bile came out, and she seems to have stopped.

Did she have an allergic reaction? She seems to be relatively fine now, maybe a bit sluggish. In the year that i have had her this is only the second time she has puked, and the first time was maybe a month ago.

My grandpa was from the last generation of Geordie sailors. He was an engineer for the merchant navy, hence the great uniform. Gran stayed home and cared for my mom and her siblings while grandpa was out sailing. He once showed me a map of all the voyages he had been on, and i wish i knew what happened to it.

Shouting her war cry (a yawn) before going into battle against the Romans (taking a nap).

They didn't like the thunder one bit this afternoon when i got home. But the thunder has stopped, the rain has let up, and we are settling in for a cozy night.

We have a lot of stray cats on my block, and i saw one that i call Boots staring at me, shaking his little white boot at me while i was having a smoke, letting me know he was hurt. I was so heartbroken and thought of my little girls, so I brought him a whole can of food. There are plenty of safe spaces around here, so hopefully he can find a place to lay low and heal.

I had Niniane (the tabby) for about two weeks before someone dumped Boudica, my tortie, in the lobby at the restaurant i worked at. Best i could tell, Nini was about 2-4 weeks older and they immediately became inseperable. I am so fortunate to have two cats that love each other and are so sweet and sociable with absolutely everyone. I'll watch them cycle between intense makeout sessions grooming each other, to zooming after each other acrtthe apartment, to full on WWE Smackdown events throwing each other to the floor.
