Columbia is playing a long game. They know they are going to outlive HitlerPig, as are the rest of the institutions he is shaking down. They only have to outlast him, and the moment there's a change in regime for any reason, they'll sue the government for billions for extortion, and win.

It's a money laundering scheme. Somebody got to get their vig. Y'know, wet their beak? You get it, no need to mention it again.

If you're going to work that hard to make some rich guy richer, why wouldn't you do that for yourself?

I had that revelation 30 years ago, and I've been mostly self-employed since. Even in those times when I wasn't, I was still working for my own benefit, not anyone else's. Those jobs didn't last long. I can only work for myself. I'm a good boss, I get away with everything.

I'd consider it for:

  • The right job
  • The right money

But it's going to have to be the kind of job I would put in those kinds of hours for free, and get paid at least triple what is reasonably expected.

Good, keep those freaks away from the rest of us.

Which surely enrages him, and is probably part of his Sociopathic profile. So he takes it out on the liberal scientists who won't make his wang work.

Just like Musk. None of those Sociopathic Oligarchs can wave the flag.

None of it would have mattered back then. It took the entire Administration to form a phalanx against any demands for release of the files, in a complete reversal of their explicit campaign promises. Many MAGAs based their allegiance on those promises.

Now it turns out that he was bluffing all along, and they are calling his hand, and everyone knows he doesn't have the cards.

Prices always rise, that's life. But when I can get equal service at half the price, I'm taking the cheaper option. I need the money more than some evil transnational corporation.

Not dumb, just don't care. One advantage to getting old is that the dangerous stuff that takes years to kill you won't have the time to get you before you die anyway, so you can go wild. If it tastes better, I'll drink it. It'll kill me in 30 years? Yeah, but I'll be dead in 20, and it tastes good, so I don't care.

Ask them, I'd bet you'd find some takers.

I just quit Verizon after nearly 20 years with them. Their service got worse and worse, and their prices kept rising. I switched to T-Mobile, and the service is about the same, but it's less than half the price.
