Couldn't agree more. The masculinity standards people are held to in society are very hostile and unfair. People should not be expected to be violent or hold back their emotions just because they are male.

Quite amusing that Cat deleted their account though. Exactly the sort of behavior you’d expect from someone just innocently posting content, right?

Because an admin threatening to ban you for being too active is surely something that makes you feel warm and welcome there. /s
This is the kind of reductive, uncharitable take you see on the VAC forums on Steam, I'm surprised you're expressing such a baseless bad-faith claim here about said person, not a good look for you.

I'm not surprised they deleted their account upon threatening to be banned for being too active, I would probably do the same thing. Especially with my past experiences with @PhilipTheBucket@ponder.cat, he seems like a pompous uptight control freak. Not the kind of person I want having access to my email address and my last known IP logins.

If you don't like me saying any of this about you @PhilipTheBucket@ponder.cat you know exactly what to do about it 🔨

Report it. Most admins don't take kindly to this, even as a joke or trolling.

I believe she's on Reddit, here's her profile:

TranscriptionI was made as a war machine

war machines... ...and civil robots...

...were made at the same factory

from almost the same parts

NO WONDER they got

a few circuits connected wrong

in my infinitely complex brain

We spend some time on the second line

learning to be our kind

and as we learned, we were getting stronger... tougher... more powertful...

more of our kind

but something felt wrong

All those weapons. Armor. My whole purpose

I thought, I'm not trying hard enough...

I've tried more guns, More Power!

more dirt, grease, and rust...

I felt so disgusted and empty, i was barely able to function.

I hoped some enemy will end it for me

I was lucky to try another path

less danger, more civil look

It felt good for the first time in years

but it was still not enough

took me a while to realize

I was not a WAR MACHINE

I just served as one

but it could've been changed

I knew it would be a ling journey

but it was a journey really worth making

Rebuilding my outer body seemed easy

but took a long time...

It was really hard to get rid of things like rust.

Some things will stay FOREVER

Gun placement left empty space on my head

Wrists are too wide for the same reason

but still...

I was made as a WAR MACHINE

but it never meant I should end up as one

Because no matter how much people say,

HOW DIFFERENT WE ARE

We were made on the same factory

from almost the same parts

Do you maybe mind sharing your APK with VirusTotal score so that people who want to try it can do so without giving their email away?

I've never posted there before but it seems like they are a legitimately terrible instance, don't blame yourself.

Since you're an admin you're in a better position than most people since you can ban then unban yourself using another admin account to remove their ban of you if you really want to. It's seen as sleezy to do that but awful.systems is sleezy too, so maybe justified?

A fantastic video essay by Jacob Geller evoking the hidden fear of the cold.

[–] BomberMan9865@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

Good point, could be that one was bad, I've had bad oranges which were bitter. Maybe with pomegranates it tastes different, not just bitter but pungent too.

[–] BomberMan9865@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Never had that experience. To me fresh pomegranate tastes fruity, sour, and delicious and is one of the last things I would associate with dirty socks. Maybe it could be something to do with your own sense of taste?

I tried to make our community icon similar to the instance icon Like with the top two ask communities but I want to know if you guys like it.

If not do you think you could provide suggestions to make it better or possibly even design a new icon if you feel inclined. If you wanted to make a new icon I still think it should use the existing base image or at least be in the same likeness of the sh.itjust.works seal.

I think wrong wing is a great description with all the things they have been doing which are morally and ethically wrong. Especially their views on individuality and bodily autonomy.

Why do people get her name wrong so often? Is there something I'm missing?

[–] BomberMan9865@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I smoked weed when I was a teen and I turned out just fine. My brother didn't and he still failed in grades and got himself kicked out of school over a girl. The thing about marijuana screwing up your brain is a lie pushed by the government to try and make people afraid of something that is otherwise harmless.

Some people (idiots) say it made me queer (nonbinary) or mentally ill (therian) but I always was those things long before I started smoking. It was only years after I smoked that I came out of the closet.

This calls for air guitar!

Mobile apps may do it differently, but Lemmy-UI doesn't do it, and the Lemmy backend won't notify people with a plain mention without an embedded link.
