If anyone in this post had taken 60 seconds to check out the accused PTB mod in this case, they would have immediately seen it shouldn't have been taken seriously. AFAIK that news community only exists so the mod can ban people for random reasons. It's clearly just for the lulz. That's why I'm not taking the trolling seriously in this case.

DMs can only be purged directly from the database afaik db0, according to the Lemmy World HQ chat anyways, snippet below:
