In my time of using Linux, to my knowledge, I can't recall a kernel panic. I've had my boot record break, graphics drivers simply not want to load (that was fixable, just annoying), or GNOME Display Manager crashout hard related to a memory leak. I use Ubuntu and Fedora KDE these days, at most there is an occasional bug that doesn't cause major issues. Just little annoyances that can be solved with an upcoming update or using the terminal.

That's the thing, just because there is a breakage doesn't mean there isn't a way to fix it. It just becomes a cycle of breakage and repair...Arch goes through cycles of being temporarily broken and back to working just fine. This is merely the nature of rolling release (part of the reason why I am not a rolling release distro).

Naturally, if one has the skill to fix Arch, it would be of no real concern. It might be annoying, but it seems that you can overcome those temporary disruptions caused by introduced bugs

Highly accurate, but, even if you fix him...An update will break him, as Arch Linux moves fast as hell!

That was the whole point of Project 2025, to basically gut the whole Government and make it so that Republicans were in power; for as long as the USA is still a nation. I don't know how far they are willing to take it as the discontent is growing, and that might be the spark that ignites the barrel of gunpowder. That's one outcome, the other is Republicans burning this whole nation down with bad decisions and blaming a long dead Biden for it.

It's time to mass defederate from Lemmy.ml, like Hexbear, they need to be isolated in their own bubble.

Ugh, this makes me totally furious...In a way I can't describe. I've rallied hard against this bill and got others to do so as well, yet here we are getting royally fucked, by those who only care about the rich bastards in this cursed country. It's going to plan with Project 2025 that everyone was warned about. Time to up the grassroots participation and hopefully get these fuckwads out of office (if there are going to be elections).

You're welcome! Yeah, I've been in that boat before, reestablishing a healthier connection to games. Games to pass the time in a way nothing else can, especially if you have a dopamine/serotonin deprived brain...It might feel like he can't stop at the moment, eventually, with gentle, consistent, and firm effort it will be possible. Getting him to the point where he can associate time passing pleasantly with you and other people in his life; this will go a long way of repairing not only your relationship, but, provide him with stronger interpersonal connections.

I feel that you need to gently, but firmly, state your feelings on this matter to him. Reassure him that you don't want him to completely stop playing games, just that you would enjoy having one on one time with him for at least a few hours a day. As part of a relationship, is reinforcing that connection which was initially formed by dating, and building upon it. To me, his fixation of gaming screams escapism...As it is easier to avoid dealing with discomfort than to face it head-on (I speak from experience on that matter). He's not a bad dude, like you said, he is fighting (or avoiding) serious internal struggles.

Microsoft is literally scorching earth in their Xbox Gaming Division...Gotta chase those short term profits, I guess. 😡

More bad news from Xbox, I was hoping they'd cut Phil Spencer lose instead...They need a brand-new lead to make Xbox awesome again. I can't say that I am surprised, though, as this game has been in dev for 7 years. However, there should've been something that could be salvaged and made into a viable game.

ROFL I can't spot the difference either...This is valid.

Oh trust me, I know the reality of what is going on. This is why I vote in every election: local, state, and national because that is what really matters. Change can only happen if we participate in all the elections possible, which I have certainly done regardless of the outcome. As apathy and losing hope is going to let those corporate and ultra wealthy donor backed candidates win.
