Yes, competition is good.

It is just a problem when the competition is big tech and can ignore everybody else as they get even more money from somewhere else like Azure.

I think the there are better alternatives for backup like kopia and restic. Even seafile. Want protection against ransomware, storage compression, encryption, versioning, sync upon write and block deduplication.

If the law is implemented, I would selfhost my own chat server. I don't see this as Signal fault.

But everybody can`t selfhost. That is a problem I am struggling with.

I am now sure what I would do about email, I assume it is affected as well?

Well, I never gave them permission to install Google Chrome. Maybe they should start thinking about their self first...

Stop using one car for one person. There is room for at least 5 in total.

People should be happy with 6 buses. There is room.

I tried to switch to podman one year ago but my compose file failed. I use advanced networking where i want all traffic coming from specific source ip, including DNS. When they fix that, then i will switch as i no longer have any container that requires root.

It would be nice to get some time in advance as notice. Like Trump get 4 years as he can't be fired for some unknown reason even though he has and is still doing illegal things(tarifs without kongress approval etc.)...

Just deline the invite and you are safe ;)

I dont see any problem with AI coding. It can be done without the editor supporting it by just asking for a function like please implement a sort function given a list of numbers.

Proton code is open source, so all AI agents have already read everything. You as user just have to do the code review, fix it and test. I am not seeing any problem here.

What can the users do about it? Maybe it is time to look into more distribution systems instead?

[–] Mio@feddit.nu 2 points 2 months ago

No, but it would be an obstacle.

Överbelastningsattack eller nåt annat?

Hej,

Hur ser möjligheterna ut för Feddit att få IPv6 support?

I just installed apt cacher ng for catching my apt upgrade packages and saw a huge time improvement even though I have a good internet connection. It act as a proxy and caches the response packages.

Do you run something similar? Or maybe even run a local repo mirror? Warning, they are really big so I don't think it is recommended unless you really need almost everything.
