Are you aware of the existence of a videocamera? It's a cool new thing on the block

[–] Nalivai@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There are only a few 2s, most are 1s. Like 1 “2” for every 100000 “1”.

[citation needed], But that doesn't even matter.
The meme would be confused to the "1" idiots, yes. And that's a good thing. Confusion is a brain activity, it's an uncomfortable state of mind, and it demands answers. It might provoke some thoughts or urge to research something to resolve. It might not. In which case it's a meme on the internet with the power and purpose of every other meme on the internet.
And if the person is too stupid to have the productive confusion, well, maybe not everything on the internet should be targeted exclusively to the lowest information bacteria.

No, it's demonstrably not true. Or do you think nobody ever does protest around the world and we can't study this shit?
Hell, there was the exact same situation in Ukraine in 2014, it's one of the best documented revolutions of the current era. Putin's cronies tried to do provocaterur shit, and shot back, and there was so much backlash to it from everywhere, this ultimately brought them defeat.
I once again want you to recognise the difference between “police mows down a crowd of unarmed protesters” and “police crushed armed insurrection in an intense shootout”, but this time I want you to do it for real, not just knee-jerking canned response.

One agent in a crowd of unarmed people will not cause that effect. But if everyone is on edge and carrying a gun, then yes, one will be enough to cause full blown massacre.

Nah, maybe 10 years ago or so. Now you install it with a script and it just works.
Installing packages on Arch is way, way easier than doing it on Ubuntu, the OS that for some reason people keep recommending for newcommers.
And since installing packages is about the only thing that you do with your OS as a beginner, that's a big deal

They don't make those arguments because they're stupid and don't understand what they're talking about, but if they really had the problem with pasterisation, they would necessarily have to have problems with other methods of preventing bacteria growth, like refrigeration for example. The fact that they don't is the signifyer on itself.

But that's the thing. Shooting unarmed protestors is fucked up even by their standards, they aren't above it, but they have to hide it and not everyone is having a good time about it, so there is tension and hesitation.
Shooting armed protestors is why they joined in the first place, it's what they dream of, it's everything that a cop ever wanted.
And a big portion of population that is not OK with the first scenario is also dreaming of the second one.

If you want for the police to get an excuse to mow you down with a tank that is. They so wish some of you have guns so they can kill you and have a ready and ironclad excuse

Kenshi mentioned!

Those who could vote but chose not to are at the same level, they actively chose to not participate, which means they at best aggree with whatever is happening. At least trump cult is way out there mentally, and there is no more humanity in those creatures, so they couldn't do otherwise. Non-participators had something in them to prevent the worst, but they chose not to. That's agency, that's responsibility.

As a Russian escaped Russia, in my experience people all over the world are incredibly good at differentiating between a shit country and it's unfortunate citizens who got unlucky to be born there. I had to have my fair share of embarrassment about what those fucks back in Russia are doing, but people are usually understanding enough
