Control the choices. Control the outcome. That lets the donor class dictate the scope of debate. Set the lines of acceptance in politics.
There's only one way to fix this. Get rid of Citizens United. Nothing will be fixed until that happens. We'll just circle the drain until the next ego driven fascist wins the Whitehouse and ends the American experiment for good and all.

Republicans are ontologically evil. Pick any topic, situation, policy, etc. They're going to do the worst thing possible. There's no negotiating, convincing, appealing to morality. They're evil. Full stop.

While we're on the subject. Why are democrats so averse to progress? That's their job. Repubs are regression, dems should be progress. But while the dems move at a glacial pace if at all, the repubs can get their shit together to roll us back by decades almost immediately.

I'm under no illusions. Citizens United means all this is PR. All politicians will go back to ignoring us and counting their filthy lucre Nov 6. But if principled people can get concessions out of these fakes then godspeed to them.
