I have an infrequently recurring dream where I'm running late for work and I call in to say I'll be late, and then I blink and hours have passed and I'm freaking out because apparently I was in a fugue state and I call in to work again to try and update them and the whole cycle repeats until I finally wake up.

Not the person you asked, but one game I had problems with on Steam that I did not on GOG was the OG Riven. It was still playable, but the various animations associated with pressing buttons and suchlike were completely broken. Very rare experience though and I have played many retro games on Steam.

US citizen here, all the world maps the teachers had on the walls in school placed the North American continent in the top left, with the Prime Meridian running along the center or very close to it (sometimes things were adjusted a bit so that Siberia would be entirely on the right side of the map instead of straddling both edges). North American-centric world maps might very occasionally show up, but only in contexts where it made more sense to divide Eurasia than the Pacific.

It's stuff like this that makes it clear that modern scholarship is increasingly sloppy and childish.

"Super Smash Bros." should be italicized or at the very least in quotation marks.

Gilgamesh goes and meets the Babylonian equivalent of Noah, who lived long ago by that point in the story, so even if you ignored everything else in the poem that clearly establishes that he's living at some point after Eden, there's still no way to combine Babylonian and Jewish mythologies without concluding that Gilgamesh and Enkidu are clearly not Adam nor Steve.

But maybe they're David and Jonathan.

Haven't read these in years. Good lord, Girl's hair stylization is getting out of control.

There's more to life than whacking off to porn to get off, but damn if it's not quick, easy, and relatively shame-free. Cheese is much the same way.

It's not pedantic to object to "nearly 1 chicken per man, woman, and child" in the US when it's much closer to "1 chicken per 4 people" than it is to the former.

He is having awesome sex. I'm sure that Peter Thiel uses his throat goat regularly.

It's a pretty standard take on the commie side that stuff like colonialism and American slavery are pretty much the capitalist equivalent of the communist mass deaths, so I think their position is that everyone's a hypocrite who has to support a government committing some kind of mass murder (in the modern day, America's mass murder in this lens is its alliance with Israel). Since Americans won't admit their government's atrocities (even though a lot of them do call out the US, but that's not how they see it), why should they admit the atrocities of the USSR?
