Some places cap property tax increases per year, or even have a flat rate based on purchase price (or appraisal?) that never goes up… until you sell the house to someone new. Then the tax gets recalculated based on the current value of the house. So if the price of the house went up 10x in those 30 years, the tax is going to be 10x higher. It’s actually beneficial to the taxpayer IMO to have a consistent predictable tax that doesn’t go up over time if your neighborhood gets gentrified or whatever and home prices skyrocket.

Yeah, I didn’t realize how soon after takeoff this was when I proposed that idea either. There’s no way shutting off the fuel during takeoff would be a reasonable decision.
Could have been cut off by one pilot as part of a troubleshooting attempt, maybe? Thinking “it’s not cut off, just a temporary state of affairs” or something like that. Just trying to think of ways this could be a miscommunication instead of blatant misconduct :(
Actually, open is good. When the shield (really a reflector) is closed, the core goes critical. Basically, the shield is made of mirrors that reflect neutrons back into the core, knocking more neutrons loose which then get reflected back in, at the point of criticality creating a feedback loop that will run away- a huge explosion. The closer the sphere is to fully closed, the more energy generated and the more radiation emitted.
We haven’t tried this one yet. I’m willing to give it a go!
Nazis are people I don’t like. The political ideology is the reason I dislike them, not the other way ‘round.
Love you too, bb.
Appreciate the skepticism regardless!
Check the color of the dots, my friend. Red is the true value, blue is the survey participants’ estimate.
Who taught grandpa how to use Lemmy?
The camera view is not of the cell or even outside of it. It’s pointed at nearby cells and the FBI claims someone would have to walk past it to reach Epstein’s cell.
