I want to begin riding bikes more for exercise and ultimately to commute to work.

Unfortunately I'm overweight and very out of shape. Work is about 20 miles away, along busy highways with big shoulders but moderate traffic. About 55 mph is the speed limit.

I'm trepidatious about obviously getting hit, but also I don't think I'd be able to go the whole way right off the bat. I'll train some first.

I'm thinking some kind of ebike like a Specialized Tero 3.0 but don't know. The shoulders can be pretty tricky/ gravelly so I was shying away from road bikes with thinner tires. I was leaning ebike because I think they're cool/fun, help me better keep up speed, and will ultimately help keep me motivated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think it was shown komodo dragons do produce their own venom as well as having bacteria ridden mouths

Any chance you could help me make a German style resume?

Why is this so hard? I've tried to do everything right, and I have more than most around me and I'm still struggling. I don't know if I'll be able to find a place to live.

Metal lined in clothes for heat and ear protection and riot shield for sound.

Very interesting at the end of the video they turn the shield around and it actually reflects the sound back at the operator

What a great resource. Thank you for compiling these reviews all together!

Great advice thanks so much! As I said above I think it was a combination of old tires, temperature and humidity changes and non true rim causing brake pad rubbing.

Rim is definitely not true. Slightly bent. I can see it more when I'm behind it and spin it as opposed to riding it.

Tire is also multiple years old. So I'm guessing it's a combination of old rubber, humidity, temperature changes, and not true rim.

Thank you for your detailed response.

Follow up as I got the tire off the rim after work. Definitely seems like it's starting to split. But only on one side. Is this indicative of being pinched by the rim? Ridden on asphalt trail 95% of the time.

Strange tire wear at rim (sh.itjust.works)

Was going to go for a simple ride tonight. Noticed this strange wear on my tire right next to the rim. Is this bad/a big deal?

Update: thank you all for your quick replies! I will be not be riding it and change it out. My rim is definitely very slightly bent, I can feel it when I ride. Definitely need a new bike since I know I'm too heavy for this bike.

Climate town just released a huge video on this. Seems kinda like a step in the right direction.

What kind of e- bike is this? How has your experience with non-pavement trails?

Horizon zero dawn please and thank you!

I finally had that moment in life where I could sit back watching TV with my family and just breathe and be grateful for everyone and everything I had. Where most of the stress of day to day was lifted and I could just.... be.
