I don't understand the bitching about it, we users were asking for this, it is the good thing about Lemmy/Fediverse, you have tons of options, and probably will have more, heck even the PWA are awesome, no need to download anything at all.

I couldn't even see if the read posts were dimmed.

Users literally asked for this since the very beginning of Sync for Reddit death, remember other apps were not as polished as Sync for Reddit was.
Now we have some good options, so I don't understand why you are disappointed.
Yes I think that is, I just migrated my communities from lemmy.world to lemm.ee and it crashes right away.
