@MicroWave Ponzi schemes by their nature are short-lived; According to Wikipedia, Charles Ponzi's original scheme ran just over a year before collapsing. All pyramid schemes require a pool of investors that is constantly expanding, which is not the situation with Social Security.

@MicroWave I'm rather impressed with the UK on this. I had expected them to cave immediately.

@Foni @MicroWave This could be turned into a MAGA loyalty test for the press. When reporters and weather reports refer to the Gulf, they will have to choose between the long-established name or the one that pleases MAGA.

Considering how craven the USA press has been, I think they'll obey in advance and start calling it Gulf of America, but I think most of the foreign press will not.

@LillyPip Also, they were just foot soldiers. We know how he feels about soldiers.

@Dagwood222 @MicroWave I think many of the J6 terrorists weren't caught until after Trump left office Jan 20. And those few who were caught early would have been sentenced too late for Trump to pardon them.

@MicroWave "So remember, kids -- drugs'll make you do really weird stuff, like pay $153,000 for a Cybertruck."

Wow, it's like an NYT Pitchbot headline: "Trump supporters are unapologetic, mask-off bigots. Here's why that reflects poorly on Biden."

@MicroWave "The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human - sweat, bad breath, everything."

@partial_accumen I would suspect that a lot of transphobes are more hostile to MtF than FtM, if you could get inside their heads.

Note that the nightmare scenario most commonly invoked to promote laws concerning bathrooms is men in women's bathrooms, rarely the opposite.

Also, modern fashion has given women a lot of freedom to wear men's-style clothing, but men don't get the same. People seem to expect men to look like men and some get very set off when they don't.
