Trump will sneak in a quick rewrite to the first article, called 'First draft':

"Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, except when it involves disloyal media, un-American ideologies, or challenges to the rightful authority of the government. The press shall be free, provided it does not engage in fake news or report unfairly on the administration. The right of the people to peaceably assemble shall be protected, unless deemed disruptive, unpatriotic, or contrary to national interests. Only grievances deemed legitimate may be petitioned to the Government for redress."

Allthough it probably would look like this if actually wrote it:

"Look, free speech is great. The best. Nobody loves free speech more than me. But let’s be smart about it. We don’t want fake news running wild, do we? The press can be free, absolutely, but if they’re dishonest—if they lie, cheat, and work against America—then guess what? That’s not free speech, that’s fraud. And we’re not going to allow fraud. People can say what they want, sure, but if it’s radical, if it’s dangerous, if it hurts America—sorry, not happening. Protests? Fine, as long as they’re peaceful, respectful, and not a total disaster. And if you’ve got a problem with the government, you can petition—but let’s keep it reasonable. No whining, no hoaxes. Just common sense. It’s gonna be tremendous."

Obviously all terrible and dangerous for all citizens of the US and abroad. This is truly an test to see whether the US wants an king and whether it can withstand the assault on its institutions by someone hellbend on destroying whatever he can. He's like an unskilled stratego player that would rather throw an tantrum and destroy the game, rather than learn to play the game.

I don't think Spotify supports uploading your own music files. It can indeed show local files, but i'm not aware of a upload mechanism such as YouTube Music has.

That would be so bad for the privacy of the owner of Twitter... Can't let that happen to him! That is for the common folk!

It seems on FDroid at least that FBreader is no longer available as a FOSS app.

Good point! It was not a given, but right now it seems like Reddit's choices (and related events at Twitter/Meta) have been driving new platforms to emerge. I'm still incredibly suprised by the adoption of Lemmy and Kbin and especially the quaility and diversity of available apps for the platforms. It's just really cool to see what people can do when they care about communitites of people coming together.

I really love that the post is called, "Facebook's Threads". I really hate the rename to Meta, because all it is, is just a smart rebrand to swindle the mainstream users into trusting them.

Disgusting.

Yeah! A great way instantly destroy the value of it for a bunch of Twitter subcultures like Politicians, Journalists, Media outlets in general.

Like, what's the point of this app and the launch window if you're instantly going to turn off lots of prominent users?

Sidenote: I would not trust Meta at all regarding ads and politics, we've seen in the last five years on why not.

It should not be about making as much money as possible, it should be about building a great product. Sure, you have to pay the bills, but sadly the way capatalism influences business makes that it can't exist and do fine, no it has to be amazing and be constantly growing.

What is the point? Like, an app such as Twitter imo should operate more like a public good, as a library does. Side effect would also be that billionaires will be too bored to care at all, so that's great.

Stil frustrates me. Being fair about why the business side needs it and then giving a time frame to devs to integrate with premium calls would have been the best option.

There would have been some revolts because of it, but nothing like the last few weeks imo
