So I often wonder about japanes cultural things in anime and especially since I watch dubbed (increasingly bad eyesight has made subbed a non starter). Anyway there is a love is ware episode that revolves around a character finding the word wiener funny but it sorta makes me wonder because in english we have that but I would assume other languages would not have the same stuff. At one point too a character is trying to get another to say it by asking another name for hotdogs or for dashhounds. It just makes me wonder if there are real analogues in japanese around this or do the writers have to decide on a different cultural thing for the joke to be around. Anyone know about this? On a side note there is the whole thing of people calling them by their last names and it makes me think about everyone walking around referring to each other like they are a student in their gym class. I wonder how prevalent using the last name actually is.

So there is this film the gorge https://feddit.uk/post/21188415 and there was this anime where they had a team that goes down a hole in the artic or something and fights demon things and it feels to me that is what this movie is about unless Im misunderstanding the previews.

Most of the romance anime I've seen are based on a high school setting or something similar.

They were good and all but all have this typical format with the usual shenanigans like Love triangle, beach and fireworks festival episodes, useless love interests that have a shelf life of a hamburger... Etc.

And the memorable ones have me feeling nostalgia for memories I've never even had. And in some cases its almost like waking up after a fever dream but with chest pain.

P.S - From the top of my head- the only grown up romance setting I can think of is Wotakoi. Maybe it's time I venture more into K-dramas for the romance, I remember seeing one named "Twentyfive twentyone" which was absolutely amazing.

Hi Guys,

About a year ago I came across a trailer for a Bruce Lee anime. I believe it was called "House of Lee?"

Is this anime still scheduled for release? Is there any info about the anime cause I really liked the trailer. 😄

I am planning on starting a community based around Fate and I was wondering if it could gain attraction.

I would fill it up with content by myself if need be, but this seems like a good idea to ask around beforehand simultaneously bringing attention that I have plans for a fate community and learning if I should focus on introducing people to fate or just continuing as if people know about it already

I just signed up for a two month free trial to Crunchy Roll and am a little overwhelmed by my options. Haven't watched much anime in my life (Dragon Ball, Akira, Death Note, One Punch) maybe a couple others.

First thing I watched was Chainsaw Man and really loved the vibe and main character of Denji. Then I watched like 5min of Attack On Titan and just thought "this show is going to be a drag isn't it" and stopped watching lol.

If anyone can suggest any Anime that's not to melodramatic or take itself to seriously. My favorite genre trends to be Dark/Black Comedies. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I just watched the final episode of If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student and I had to write something about it... When I first read the description of this anime I thought it looked stupid, "Another low effort anime." But of course I watched it anyway (because I run out of episodes fast on Sundays, haha) and it turned out fantastic!

The description is accurate but severely understates the concept: It's not a comedy but more akin to sci-fi or isekai with a, "what if?" scenario. What would it be like if your dead wife suddenly appears in the form of a little kid, saying she reincarnated? It does a pretty good job of going into the emotions and real-world problems (Japanese 🤣) people would run into in such a situation.

For example, what about the mother of the little girl‽ Wouldn't she be like, "WTF‽" Ummm... Yeah she would! And the show explores that aspect of the concept as well as the family of the deceased.

I highly recommend this anime. It'd probably be a great show to watch with your partner too. Also, make sure to have some tissues handy to soak up the tears!

I don't like naruto as main character.he always say I would become hokage but never do really put too much hardwork for that. In Naruto (not in shipudin) why people say he is talentless? I wanna know your thoughts.

Hey, I've developed a small game that is inspired by Cine2Nerdle Battle.

You can play either single player or multiplayer (though only with a private lobby).

A quick summary of the rules:

  • The goal of the game is to connect as many animes together before the time limit (default 30s) is reached
  • For the current anime, you are to provide another anime that shares a voice actor
  • Each voice actor can only be used up to 3 times (default)
  • There are various aids that can be used such as:
    • showing the main cast and their voice actors
    • extending the time limit
    • passing (in multiplayer) for the other player to answer instead

Note that there might not be feature parity with Cine2Nerdle battle, which may or may not be intentional.

Have fun!

Feels like classic dragon ball. Full of joy, new experiences, friends and laughter.

And Goku is a rude little bastard.

That's what I need in these trying times.

A prequel anime feature is also currently in development, and it will finally show at least some of John’s storied “impossible task” that permitted him to retire for love.

"Right now, we’re knee-deep in development on a feature anime about John Wick. It’s a prequel to the movies, which is awesome. It’s fun that it’s in a different medium."

What is your go-to Anime whenever you want to feel cozy and warm inside? I loved Toradora back in the day, and I am trying to find other anime like it. I also watched Golden Time and Horimiya, and they were both good as well!

I remember watching the OG Ranma ½ on a French anime channel called Mangas, it was a really good and funny anime. People are complaining that Netflix may censor the echi parts of the show, which would be annoying.

Most of the old voice actors are also back for this remake!
