Blender studios is making a Godot game. They talked about this before in a video but now we get a better look at it.

From the official release video:

New stuff includes (but is not limited to) tournament mode, correct video renderer (now with 100% more OpenGL), new audio backend, new enemy AI, new release types (e.g. windows ARM), and a kiloton of bugfixes and other minor features. It's been over ten years since the last release, so we got tired of trying to hunt down the full changelog ;)

Note that if you played the automated releases from github, then this probably does not have anything new to you. We just felt we had enough stuff for a new milestone. Also, note thet network play is still currently disabled, as we felt if requires more work before actual playtesting.

this is exactly how i wanted the game to be (sadly i'm redoing almost everything from scratch, but never mind) XD

I rewrote some popular games for the terminal! You can play 2048, the snake game, tic-tac-toe, connect 4, and many more.

There's still a bunch of games to be made, so feel free to contribute :)

All contributions are welcome!

Do we need a standalone Libre/OpenSource Game-Store/Hub ??? (similar to Athenaeum)

where we simply aggregate all the FOSS games in one place along with their mods & links to their assets (Plus methods to fund those libre-gamedevs)

we have a first prototype of inventory, where for now the player will see his 48 playing cards (there are 48 only for a space factor, and it is still a sufficient number of cards) we also restored the initial seller, as suggested

first tests of setting up a hypothetical shop, where the player can buy card packs

as you can see the opponent (but also the player) do not respect the rules of the game yet (I have not implemented them correctly yet)

we are creating a card game.

it is not complete, but currently you can place monster cards and have them attack the opponent's monsters.

we need to complete the list below, but the game is actually playable in early alpha, and with many bugs.

Our migration from SVN to GIT has already started! You can now access our new repositories on http://a-lec.org/ ๐Ÿ˜ :

The repos are now open! Please feel free to play around with them, ask questions, report feedback, etc.

To avoid confusion, please keep in mind the following TODOs:

  • Migrate existing assets (tracks, driver liveries, cars) to their own repositories.
    • This can be done at a slower pace, since we can only migrate assets whose licensing is clear and fully free (as in freedom).
    • Non-free assets should be ideally hosted elsewhere.
    • Illegal assets (e.g.: those under proprietary licenses and/or violating intellectual property, such as lancer09-wr) will not be migrated.
  • Migrate existing tickets/issues from SVN to https://forge.a-lec.org/speed-dreams/.
  • Make some suggested improvements to the in-game download manager.
    • "Download all" button.
    • Filter by category (car category, track type, robot type) and quality (pre-alpha, alpha, beta, production).

This release took some time, but it's worth it! VoxeLibre is back on track with development.

Minecarts are reworked and you can put them back on track; a new projectile system will make combat and adventure smoother; new original weapons (spears and hammers!) with unique functions will aid you there; and then you can enjoy a nice show of new fireworks on an improved sky... All the while farming mobs and plants, utilizing the improvements to their systems! And this is not the end...
