Hello, recently I've been on the hunt for a private music tracker to populate my Lidarr Instance, I've found REDacted and Orpheus quite appealing, but they're "hard" to get into and are mostly for audiophiles.

I'm not an audiophile (more like a brokeyphile) and I don't want to wait 3-5 weeks on something I'll be just seeding instead of being active, do y'all have any recommendations? All I can offer is seeding 24/7 and a few proofs that I have good ratios

Does anyone know the best places I can find add-ons in the Minecraft Bedrock Marketplace? The Bluecoin telegram groups I was in were hit with copyright takedowns. It appears some related subreddits have also been taken down so I’m finding it pretty difficult to gather any information.

I'm new around here, so I'd appreciate some context if anyone knows...

What are the legal ramifications of discussing piracy online?
What are the lines in the sand one should not cross? What do you do to make sure you stay safe out there?

I know linking to specific pirated content is against the communities rules so that seems like an obvious no no.

So i was installing a repack on my linux system, using bottles because of its flatpak sandbox.

As the install was wrapping, it asked the standard question about redirecting the websites, I (probably thinking nothing will happen) didn't uncheck anything, and to my surprise, it opened the Firefox browser on my main system and launched the website: giving me quite the spook

doesn't this mean that anything i install on bottles can somehow still ping home even if I disable networking from Flatseal?

am I being paranoid or is this a serious security flaw?

Currently I'm using a VPS on Hertzer hosted in Singapore. I might try to torrent movies and games or maybe download videos in bulk using yt-dlp from youtube or maybe even porn. I want to know if its a good idea or should I use a paid vpn inside my VPS. If there is a better alternative like another VPS provider who ignores DMCA notices and stuff, do suggest. I also sync some folders using syncthing. So its kind of a mixed use. I don't know much about networking and stuff, so hopefully nothing too complicated. Thanks in advance.

I have been lurking on this community for a while now and have really enjoyed the informational and instructional posts but a topic I don't see come up very often is scaling and hoarding. Currently, I have a 20TB server which I am rapidly filling and most posts talking about expanding recommend simply buying larger drives and slotting them in to a single machine. This definitely is the easiest way to expand, but seems like it would get you to about 100TB before you cant reasonably do that anymore. So how do you set up 100TB+ networks with multiple servers?

My main concern is that currently all my services are dockerized on a single machine running Ubuntu, which works extremely well. It is space efficient with hardlinking and I can still seed back everything. From different posts I've read, it seems like as people scale they either give up on hardlinks and then eat up a lot of their storage with copying files or they eventually delete their seeds and just keep the content. Does the Arr suite and Qbit allow dynamically selecting servers based on available space? Or are there other ways to solve these issues with additional tools? How do you guys set up large systems and what recommendations would you make? Any advice is appreciated from hardware to software!

Also, huge shout out to Saik0 from this thread: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/24219297 I learned a ton from his post, but it seemed like the tip of the iceberg!

Hi, I use Cricfy TV app in my android phone but I'd like to use something similar in my Windows PC as well. Is there any app like that? If not, what would be a good Android emulator for Windows?

TorrentGalaxy's release group GalaxyRG265 used to be my go-to for movie releases because I thought they were the perfect balance of size and quality. However, they haven't put out anything since mid December.

Anyone know what happened? I know the site has had uptime issues recently, so maybe they're focusing on that instead?

Ahoy my fellow pirates. Is there any site like Kemono for DeviantArt Premium Galleries? I found this one creator on the platform but all his good stuff is behind a 10$ (!) paywall for every "Gallery" of his. Bad is that they aren't only images but videos that I need, so there is that. Does anyone here know of some site of this kind?

P.S. The author also doesn't have a patreon or anything like that. He only posts to DA.

Edit: He also locks 95% of his stuff behind a 20$ (!) subscription on top of these galleries. You can't even access the old premium galleries if you buy the sub.

A few months ago, I was between jobs and had to write a grant proposal. I didn't have access to a few of publications and to my horror, I found that most of the recent works weren't on Sci-Hub. Luckily a couple of old friends helped me out with getting those articles.

Now that I have a job and institutional access, I want to upload articles to Sci-Hub, or at least send it to someone who can inspect my documents, check that they're OK, and then put them on the server.

I am currently sitting in about 140-odd articles that I know aren't on Sci-Hub. I know that wosonjh (or whatever that name is) is a forum where one can upload requested articles, but from what I understand, that doesn't feed into Sci-Hub's repository.

Can someone please help me?

I am looking for Davinci Resolve Studio for Linux.

On PirateBay there is only Windows and one for Mac. They don't even have a Linux apps category, only UNIX.

On 1337x.to they don't have categories for the different operating systems, but from what I can see it's only windows.

It costs $300 one time, which is a very fair price and I will pay it if it works on my computer. But because it's so much money I want to check if it really works before I move over the money.

I tried the free version and it's cool but it can't handle the files from my Sony A7C and I need to transcode all of them before editing, that takes a lot of space and a lot of time because I have hundreds of files for each project. Theoretically the paid version should be able to use my Intel iGPU which has hardware acceleration for the file format my camera spits out. This way I could use both my GPUs at the same time.

It's probably a stupid question... But if I notice I'm not getting much upload activity on my seeds, I'll often intentionally just hop over to a random country and see what happens. For example last night I noticed that my uploads had been limited to 1 or 2 <100kB/s peers for the last few days while connected to a US server. Clicked over to a Venezuelan server and almost immediately got about 20 connections that have been sitting between 5-10MB/s total upload ever since.

Makes me feel like an international Johnny Appleseed, except with media and stuff. 😎 Though it's a little surprising to me that there would be such a huge difference in seeding effectiveness depending on where your VPN's endpoint is. Whatever works I guess!

The only downside is it can make web browsing and shopping a bit of a pain. But that's my own fault for not taking 10 minutes to figure out how to set up split tunneling or just hosting qBittorrent on my media server...

EDIT: On rumba's advice I enabled port forwarding in my VPN and qBittorrent client, and now all is well.

I’m currently using windows but my Prime streams stutter a lot and are all jittery. it’s really annoying. So I’m wondering if getting a mac mini or something a bit more powerful than my PC would help.

Obviously there are DRM issues, those can be fixed on windows by turning off Hardware Acceleration in my browser. Is it easy to get around DRM on Mac?

Anyone have any experience or know where I can go to get help/talk about it with people?

System Specs: Intel Core i5 10400, GTX 1050 TI, 16gb Ram, 500gb SSD (for OS) and another 1tb SSD for recordings

I use Bandicam to record my Edge browser. Prime is a bit smoother when I make sure my PC is not running on efficiency mode, but still stutters a bit.

Other streaming services only run in 720p or worse, can't get them to get to 1080p which is my target. I have to use a 4k monitor to get Prime to play at 1080p.

I should note that I purchased all of this content and I only use it for personal use as it's more convenient for me to have a video file than always streaming the edited content.

Ahoy! My internal hdds are at max with all I've been torrenting and I'm considering some type of Docking station for my desktop with several 10Tbs drives in them to allow me to store and backup my data for offline protection.

I was wondering if anyone had done any type of setup like this and if it's a reliable method for offline data storage. I'd also like it to have a RAID capability but I have software which can mirror drives to each other on startup/shutdown, etc. Also, I'd need it to have a USB-type connection for a USB SSD drive to pop-out & connect to my Smart TV for viewing.

An end goal would be to get a 3-2-1 setup but I can't find a reliable Cloud storage I'd trust with that much data except maybe Filen.

Any positive input about brands, drives, services, etc. would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Freshly unsealed court documents reveal that Meta downloaded significant amounts of data from shadow libraries through Anna's Archive. The company's use of BitTorrent was already known, but internal email communication reveals sources and terabytes of downloaded data, as well as a struggle with limited availability and slow download speeds due to a lack of seeders.
