Hahaha, I can't imagine my governor reigning in on a few particular bike lanes, but I suppose it's only a question of time until some idiot gets elected who wants to overturn municipal decisions. Could be a fun few years in court.
It's the culture war. It's about hurting the right people. Doug Ford wants to call an election two years early, because if the federal government flips to a conservative party, Doug won't win the next provincial election. He has been running a campaign for the last three or four months and doing the most counterproductive, populist bullshit.
There is also a number of open investigations against his government, some of them quite serious. And he did a LOT MORE shady shit recently that there hasn't even been time for investigators to respond to. He's probably also wanting to have an election before these chickens come home to roost.
Yeah, I don't know if you've heard of Doug Ford's late crackhead former mayor brother, but that family has a huge vendetta against most progress in the provincial capital.
