What are y'all's opinions?

I like slatted for the idea of a French cleat system where I can put some shelves or lamps up without taking up floor space. But cloth is also nice for the comfort and it seems more 'bed space' appropriate.

I do. And they're pretty good at not clawing stuff up, so I'm not too worried

Another thing to consider is the accumulation of cat hair on the cloth headboard. If you have mild cat allergies you may find you start waking up feeling stuffy.
