TBH it's not even piracy. Piracy is raiding ships on the open seas and stealing their booty and selling the crew into slavery. Calling file sharing "piracy" is corporate misinformation that was somehow adopted by the general public.

It's true. I have a thousand virtual machines all playing pirated kanye west albums, and he's broke now. I literally stole all his money.

No one loses out when I download UFC. I was never going to pay to watch it anyway.

Similarly with music, I was never buying that random album that I heard a snippet of one track but if I like it and go and see them I'll buy merch, and they benefit from the ticket sales and the merch, none of which would have happened without me ripping the album in the first place.
