This is big! Reading between the lines, it seems that at the very least:

  1. Marvel/Disney is actively planning ways to use the Defenders characters in the MCU in the future

  2. The primary barrier to using Defenders characters will be budget constraints and actor availability

It would be interesting to see if The Defenders comes back, any of the existing shows get spiritual successors, or if movies with these characters come out in the future. It'd be pretty cool if we end up seeing, for example, the Defenders version of Danny Rand team up with Shang Chi in the sequel that most definitely is going to happen (per pinkie promises)
