I’ve had a hard time landing and keeping jobs despite having more than enough skill to go around. What have your experiences been? I think I just need to get better at selling myself and working with others

Terrible, dehumanizing, awefull. The entire process of applying for jobs is one of the absolute worst things society ever made me do.

I did in the end find a good safe job with an open minded manager that respects me and my colleague for our individual expertise and accomplishments.

I am not paid well, there are plenty of grossly better paying jobs within my industry. I don’t care. I know that was the compromise for job security and to me highly valued stability.

I am never doing that ordeal again. I am never applying elsewhere. They would need to drag me from the desk i have now. And they better find me another in house function to do because i am showing up to do my work the next day, wether they keep paying me or not.

(I work in the logistical background of a non profit IT helpdesk, with plenty of freedom, input in our procedures, room to script/program tools that benefit coworkers)
