You get what you pay for.

At $90K, no you most certainly don't.

The majority of the cost is stupid tax

[–] ploot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Do you have a source for that?

Also we should note that Tesla paid $0 income tax on $2 billion income in 2024. And Trump axed the tax rebate to help people buy EVs.

Dumb tax as in tax for being dumb. I was joking.

I think "stupid tax" is the more common verbiage, I've updated it

Personally I think “idiot tax” works better.

“Stupid” and “dumb” being adjectives that could also be describing the tax itself, rather than the person paying it, is ambiguous. But “idiot tax” clearly says, to me anyway, “a tax on idiots.”

[–] Elgenzay@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago

Ah yeah good point

[–] ploot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Ah, that makes sense. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The phrase “idiot tax” is also used to describe people who buy lottery tickets.
