US or not, ProtonMail is owned by a Trump supporter, I’d stay away from them.

ProtonMail is not owned by a trump supporter. Its CEO is a Trump supporter.

The implications might be the same but can we at least be accurate about it. Proton is majority owned by the Proton Foundation, they are transitioning towards a non-profit structure.

Ooo really? I had no idea, got a source?

Also isn't zoho mail a viable alternative?

I feel like they’ve been trying to scrub this from the internet/this comment used to be a lot more findable.

Oh wow, I almost bought into proton with hard-earned dollars just a few days ago. Glad that was on the backburner until now! holy smokes! Task cancelled! Thank you.

Nah, the CEO is a liberal, but he seems a bit weird about some issues in a single issue voter way. Haven't seen anywhere that he is a Trump supporter, but he did support Gail Slater.

I was told this when I mentioned that I was moving from Apple to Proton, turns out not to be true but I have moved all of my stuff to hosthero; my blog, my storage, and my random email addresses.

In the end it was cheaper to move all of my stuff.
