Even if old age gets him, Vance becomes the acting president, and he's every bit as evil while not being quite as senile. I highly doubt the MAGA cult is going to die alongside Trump.

Cults rarely survive a leader transition, especially ones based so fully around an individual rather than specific ideals. The cult will die, and the support will fracture, the underlying issues with the Republican party that allowed it will still be there.

Agreed. And it is not necessarily good news - this might turn into chaos quickly.

The Democratic party of today will think it's won and do fucking nothing for us.

I feel like this needs to end with a new constitution or we just punt the issue a few decades while still allowing all the insane shit of today.

There were early rumblings of making it a Trump Dynasty, which would be easier than transitioning to Vance (in the event of a third term, where they probably will run on a false ticket of Trump/Trump).

Trump chose the most feckless, least charismatic person ever as VP specifically so he wouldn't show him up. He's evil, all right, but no way he'll be able to inherit Trump's cult.

IDK they seem pretty darn unable to agree on anything besides how much they all love Trump. There's no Republican politician who is anywhere close to his equal. There is no obvious successor. Seems like a strong possibility of a power vacuum when he dies.

Vance doesn't have the support of the personality cult.
