As much as I dislike the Chinese Autocratig Regime, if they're right, then they're right.

Yeah but we’re actively genociding our own people and other countries peoples.

We’re technically even shittier

China is also supporting genocide abroad, they are helping prop up Putin’s war in Ukraine. Which Russia is kidnapping children to “reeducate them and give them proper parents” while slaughtering civilians. China is also a one party state and brutally suppresses any attempt at a protest. Their interest and their media are highly censored and any mention of criticizing the state can get you disappeared or sent to a “reeducation camp”.

I’m not dismissing the shitty things we have done and are doing. Nor am I denying we are actively flying towards the competitive authoritarianism that China has. But as of right now we are not as bad as China is.

“China is also supporting genocide abroad, they are helping prop up Putin’s war in Ukraine.”

I understand that, my point on that was China is doing the same thing. And again not dismissing the things we are doing.

Russia/Ukraine is a state vs state territorial conflict involving genocide with most of the Western world in support of Ukraine.

Israel/Gaza is an occupation with six times the civilian death toll, involving widespread systemic destruction of infrastructure, forced displacement, inaccessibility to healthcare and starvation.

While both are genocides, the imbalance is particularly horrific in the latter. The Russians seem to have a preference for abducting children and placing them in "Russification" camps to erase their heritage while Israel simple kills Gazan children in cold blood.

This is not an apples to apples comparison and I think many would consider the US looks worse, in this particular comparison, than China.

The US has dropped over 40 bombs a day for the last 20 years. China hasn't dropped a bomb in decades.

We are supporting the Russian genocide of Ukraine also, so…..

We’re technically shittier than them.

Did you even read the first line properly?

Yeah and McDonalds keeps genociding all those potatoes to make fries, its bullshit. What's genocide mean again?

Extermination of an ethnic, religious, or nationalist group

This can be achieved through murder, reeducation, banning cultural practices, or diluting the population so their customs become lost

Can people make up their mind if they are against or for religion already?

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Religion is fine in the privacy of your own home or place of worship

It’s when it enters public life that it becomes a problem because then it’s infringing on other people’s rights
