Here’s the trick: they went out on a limb and complimented you. They didn’t have to do that. Maybe they were nervous, or worried you’d reject them or laugh at them. Instead, you validated their compliment. You probably in turn made their day. There’s nothing selfish about that. Go get yourself a gummy, and stop overthinking things.
