Genuine question: what happened to this guy? I remembered when he got elected it was kind of AOC blue collar vibes. Did he change or something else?
You can tell he massively shifted after the stroke. Brain damage and MAGA fit so well together.
Brain wash or brain damage are the only ways people support right wing politics unless they're fundamentally psychopathic people
We were sold a lie. Seems he's always been a grifter.
Here's a whole episode of Some More News about it.
Interesting episode. So basically it wasn't the stroke like everyone parrots. He was always a weirdo.
Chasing after a jogger with a shotgun, and vandilizing a local business (both as major) is pretty shitty behavior.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Ok I did not know so he had a stroke and changed after that? Crazy.
It's hard to say whether it was the stroke, the exposure to DC, or a combination of both... But considering other progressive senators seem capable of (mostly) holding true to their campaign promises/personality, it's more likely due to the stroke.
Edit: missing "progressive" modifier
He never called himself progressive. He actually said he was not progressive during his campaign run.
Right, forgot about that...
He himself said something to the effect of he could literally feel the progressive part of him leave his body after his stroke, so it seems a lot like brain damage removes your empathy or makes you a greedy war mongering asshole.
It can be good tho...
It all depends on what gets damaged and what you're starting off with.
In general the bits at the front by your forehead regulate impulses, so losing that makes you more of an asshole. That's also where empathy happens.
The first parts by your spine generate those impulses, so damage there could chill someone who's already an asshole.
It doesn't take damage tho, with like 15 minutes of training anyone can predict political leanings from a normal brain scan with I er 80% accuracy.
It's not a permanent difference, the brain can change well into old age.
But as a general rule, the left uses their front brain. The right uses their hind brain.
And our brain is like a muscle. What we use often gets bigger and more active.
