I have a theory that there's a growing market for third space gaming lounges. All those empty office spaces could be converted to row couches and TVs with Gamecubes.

The market was never large or mainstream enough before when gamers were just nerds. Now? I think there's a calling for a public living room.

People no longer want to leave their homes to game, hence the death of most arcades

Walmart still has arcades. Mostly claw machines, and you know how the man-o-verse loves claw machines with fluffy things!!!

Interestingly, there's a small arcade chain that's pretty popular around my area. They specialize in retro games and have a wide selection, and from what I've seen they get pretty packed on weekends with people of all ages. They have stations of classic consoles (great if you want to play with a group), along with traditional arcade games and pinball. They do tournaments, birthday parties, and other events as well.

Not that it denies the trend, but it shows that there's definitely some interest out there for a gaming/"public living room" kind of place.
