Democratic Party rejects dramatic change in leadership vote
Stop voting to confirm Trump's nominations might be a start.
What?
He lead Minnesota's state party for a decade and took it from purple to literally one of our most progressive states and a blue stronghold.
I didn't click your link, but I hovered and know why you hid it now.
Semafor:

A neoliberal billionaire's personal project to use AI to tailor "news" to individuals based on their viewing habits to more successfully influence readers...
I've been ringing alarm bells about that site for years, I'm going to take people being less transparent with using it as a sign it's reputation is catching up to it.
Like, you really expect this company:

To not shit on Martin because they wanted a neoliberals?
I agree that's a valid criticism of individual Dems. And I agree they should stop.
But what the absolute fuck does that have to do with the DNC?
Well, you'd think the DNC chair would be involved in discussions of strategy, but WTH do I know?
This source any better for you? (And speaking of which, did we forget David Hogg when claiming Martin was progressive?)
DNC Elects Moderate Ken Martin as New Chair, Shunning Calls from Progressive Base (FYI that's a link to Democracy Now)
That's not what the DNC is supposed to do...
For decades they have been. But voters have roundly rejected that, and the DNC voting members listened and went with Martin.
Literally because he would be unbiased.
And now people are complaining that he's unbiased instead of biased in the opposite way?
Have you never read any political history?
Do you not already know what happens when after a regime change the new one decides to do all the fucked up shit the last one did, but to the opposite group of people?
I'm sorry man. You post some funny memes sometimes, but if you really don't get this, you eat up too much of my time.
Quick edit:
Just saw the double reply, sorry bud
So are you claiming he's a progressive or that we shouldn't care that he's not? Because I feel like this started out one way, and is ending another.
AND ALSO you claim that wanting an actual progressive to chair the DNC is wanting the democrats to do all the same fucked up shit Trump is doing now? Are we having the same conversation?
I can't imagine how you've taken that from my comments.
Edited to add - if you like Martin that's fine by me. I don't see how you are holding him up as some shining progressive example though, and you've provided nothing but trust me bro to back up that stance.
And... there it is. That statement betrays exactly what you think of progressives and socialists.
What you don't get, or don't want to get, is that there are three political philosophies at play here, and every one of them has it's radicals and moderates. There is conservatism, neoliberalism, and progressivism.
You think neoliberalism is defined as the "center" between conservatives and progressives, but it's absolutely just as possible to be a radical neoliberal as a radical progressive. In fact, the people running the Democratic party are hardcore radical neoliberals. They pretend to be conservative or progressive when it suits them, but they are neoliberal to the core. They are just as capable of doing "all the fucked up shit" to their opposition, and have in fact been doing it consistently for 50 years now.
Progressives get a the tip of a toe in the door, and out you come to sound the alarm that we're going to take over the place and, what, start deporting Republicans?
You aren't the centrist you think you are, and you are just another enemy to progressives.
Buddy...
I make Vladimir Illynitch Lenin look like Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Someone pointing out the main failing of revolutions is no one plans for after the revolution, in no way means I don't have a pitchfork.
Just fucking wild...
I don't care what your beliefs are. If you think the progressive movement is at a point where we have worry about oppressing the neoliberals, you have a screw loose and can only hurt us.
LOL I didn't hide it. That's how you hyperlink things on the internet. It's not like you wouldn't see it upon clicking.
Having said that, I didn't realize it was AI trash.
OTOH, I have provided at least one source to backup my assertion that he's NOT super progressive and does not represent something other than status quo. It turns out it was a shitty source, but I"m also sure that's not where I first saw a similar analysis, so I'll find you a better one.
You have provided trust me bro.
I'd love to see some evidence that the DNC is becoming more progressive. So far I don't see that. I'm not arguing with you out of spite, I'm arguing because I think they are too beholden to corporatism to do anything else, and I don't feel (up to now) that Martin represents a break from that.
